Jewellery Care & Product Information

Jewellery Care & Product Information

Created Brilliance jewellery is designed to be worn and enjoyed for years to come.

Like all fine jewellery, precious metals and gemstones require appropriate care and handling to help maintain their appearance and longevity over time.

This page provides general guidance relating to jewellery care, product information and material characteristics.

Precious Metals

Our jewellery collections may include:

  • gold
  • silver
  • platinum
  • vermeil and plated finishes where applicable

Precious metals naturally show signs of wear over time through everyday use, including light surface marks, scratches and gradual changes in finish.

Certain metals and finishes may require more regular care depending on wear frequency, environmental exposure and individual skin chemistry.

Lab-Grown Diamonds

Created Brilliance specialises in jewellery featuring lab-grown diamonds.

Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds created using advanced technological processes that replicate the natural diamond growing environment. They possess the same physical, chemical and optical properties as mined diamonds.

Like mined diamonds, lab-grown diamonds should still be handled carefully to help avoid damage caused by impact or improper storage.

Gemstones

Some jewellery pieces may contain natural or laboratory grown gemstones.

Gemstones can vary in hardness, durability and care requirements. Certain stones may be more sensitive to heat, chemicals, impact or prolonged sunlight exposure.

We recommend handling gemstone jewellery with appropriate care to help preserve its appearance over time.

Fine Jewellery & Everyday Wear

Fine jewellery naturally experiences wear over time, particularly rings and pieces worn daily.

Precious metals can gradually develop surface marks, scratches and wear through normal use. Claws, settings and finer structural components may also require periodic maintenance over the lifetime of the jewellery.

This is a normal characteristic of fine jewellery and does not necessarily indicate a manufacturing defect.

General Jewellery Care

To help maintain your jewellery over time, we recommend:

  • avoiding exposure to harsh chemicals, perfumes and cleaning products
  • removing jewellery before swimming, exercising or heavy manual activity
  • avoiding impact against hard surfaces
  • storing jewellery separately to minimise scratching
  • cleaning gently using a soft cloth where appropriate
  • arranging periodic inspections of gemstone settings and claws where applicable

Storage

Jewellery should ideally be stored:

  • in a clean, dry environment
  • separately from other jewellery pieces
  • within a jewellery box or soft pouch where possible

Proper storage helps minimise scratching, tarnishing and unnecessary wear.

Silver Jewellery

Silver jewellery may naturally tarnish over time due to exposure to air, moisture and environmental conditions.

Regular gentle cleaning with an appropriate jewellery cloth may help maintain appearance.

Gold-Plated & Vermeil Jewellery

Gold-plated and vermeil finishes naturally wear over time depending on frequency of wear, friction and exposure to moisture, cosmetics and chemicals.

This gradual wearing of plated finishes is considered normal wear and tear.

Product Variations

As many jewellery products are finished by hand, slight variations may occur between individual pieces.

Stone appearance, colour tones and metal finishes may vary slightly depending on lighting, screen settings and natural production variations.
